From January to July Art Ceramic Exports Continue to Grow

According to customs data, from January to July, China's art ceramics exports reached $460 million, marking a year-on-year growth of 40.7%. The total export volume during this period was 283 million kilograms, rising by 12.81% compared to the same period last year. Art ceramics continue to lead in the light industrial products sector in terms of export value. In July alone, the export value reached $83 million, up 33.87% from the previous month, while the export volume was 470 million kilograms, an increase of 23.68% year-on-year.
The traditional markets for Chinese art ceramics are showing strong and sustained growth. From January to July, exports to the European Union totaled $185 million, accounting for 40.3% of the total export value, with a year-on-year increase of 31.74%. The volume of exports to the EU reached 905 million kilograms, up 21.64% year-on-year. Meanwhile, exports to the United States amounted to $109 million, making up 23.66% of the total, and saw a 17.03% rise in value, with 710 million kilograms exported—an increase of 12.69% compared to the same period last year.
Exports to Japan totaled $22 million, representing 4.68% of the total, and increased by 14.6% year-on-year, though the volume dropped slightly to 140 million kilograms, down 3.89% from the previous year. On the other hand, exports to South Korea surged by 151.14% year-on-year, reaching $18 million, which accounted for 3.90% of the total export value. However, the export volume fell by 10.44%, totaling 13 million kilograms.
These figures highlight the continued global demand for Chinese art ceramics, especially in key markets like the EU and the U.S., and demonstrate the resilience and expansion of this traditional industry in the international market.
