British students use silicone as raw material for 3D printing custom underwear

Recently, Jess Haughton, a fashion student from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, designed a series of 3D printed underwear, which not only looks elegant, but also guarantees perfect fit with the user.

It is understood that these underwear can have a beautiful appearance and good comfort at the same time, mainly because the clothes are made of high-elastic silicone 3D printing, and its flexibility, durability and smoothness are also quite good. Elastomeric silicone becomes very hard and flexible after curing, and it is not easy to break and is very comfortable when in contact with the skin.

“The stretch silicone is great, it really changes the way underwear is made,” Haughton said. “It’s strong and soft, it’s actually hard to break, it’s good, and it’s more traditional than 3D printing. More complicated patterns.” Haughton even compared this innovative method of printing silicone flower patterns directly to pure filters to a new, more modern way of making lace. Currently, Haughton's sexy lingerie will be on display at NTU's 2016 Art and Design Show. They not only earned the attention of the audience, but also attracted the attention of some business people.
