Advisors Circle member Melanie decided to tweak the Enmore Top to achieve a runway-inspired look. Here’s her take on modifying the pattern to create something truly unique. When I first saw the Enmore pattern, I immediately thought of some designer tops I’d been saving on my Pinterest boards. They reminded me of a chic Chanel blouse I’ve always admired. I knew this pattern could easily be transformed into a summer-ready top with a touch of high-fashion flair. To give it a more polished, runway-worthy appearance, I opted for a silky polyester fabric for the main part of the top and paired it with black linen for the collar. I took a facing pattern from a dress I already owned and knew fit me well—Butterick 6655—and used it as my collar template. I added extra seam allowance to the bottom of the facing and cut two pieces, interfacing one of them. Once I assembled the collar pieces, I left openings at the shoulders and neckline to tuck in the top later. After turning the collar right side out, I pressed the seam allowances of the openings carefully to ensure a smooth, even finish. Modifying the Enmore top was straightforward. I placed the collar around my neck and measured upward from where the original pattern would end. Being shorter between my shoulder and bust, I only needed to add an inch in height, which I adjusted on both the front, back, and shelf bra pieces. Additionally, I raised the armholes slightly by ¾ inch for a bit more coverage. This change required a slight adjustment in the construction sequence. First, I attached the shelf bra, leaving the shoulders and front open while understitching. Next, I basted the open edges together and sewed the outer layer of the collar onto the top body, pressing the seam upward into the collar. I hand-stitched the inner edges to avoid visible stitching, though you can also use topstitching for a decorative effect if preferred. Finally, I sewed two small buttons at the back collar and created thread loops to hold them in place. I believe this variation adds a touch of elegance and modernity to the Enmore pattern without requiring extensive modifications. It’s a fun way to update your wardrobe with a sophisticated twist! While I didn’t have any sparkly pink tweed in my stash to go fully Chanel, I’m quite happy with how this version turned out. Sometimes, less is more, and this top fits the bill perfectly! [EASY TO USE] Wet a towel with lukewarm water or your favorite makeup remover, and massage gently in circular motions to remove makeup. For stubborn makeup, leave the cloth on the skin for 15 seconds to break down makeup, then it can be easily removed.
